The Sunday morning message was entitled “According To Your Faith Be It Unto You” from Matthew 9:18-29.
“While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. ”“And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples. ”“And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: ”“For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. ”“But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. ”“And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, ”“He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. ”“But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. ”“And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land. ”“And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. ”“And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. ”“Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.”
The word “according” means “to harmonize” or “to adjust one thing to another”. Continue reading →
“Say I Love You” was the theme of our Valentine Banquet this year. I took about a week and asked the Lord to teach me 100 ways to tangibly say “I Love You” to my wife with words and actions. This list below is what God gave me. I shared it with the folks at the banquet. You will probably find items that you do regularly and others that are out of your comfort zone. As the “enlightened and intelligent” people of the world get more creative in trying to remove God and His influence from mainstream thought, it becomes increasingly more apparent that “professing themselves to be wise, they became fools”.
After the long-held belief by some atheists that people who believe in God are delusional or suffering from a psychosis, now the medical studies seeking to disprove the reality of faith begin. The following study suggests that those who claim to be born again are actually suffering from a shrinkage in the hippocampus of the brain.
Oh, now I understand. All of us who believe in God are not just crazy. Some of us are actually suffering from a physical brain malady. That clears everything up! (Sarcasm intended)
Regardless of how foolish the world becomes in trying to disprove our God and disdain our faith, the truth remains. God is real. Jesus saves those that believe. The Holy Spirit indwells believers. Heaven is our home. The Bible is the Word of God.
Romans 3:3-4b “For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? (4) God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar;”
As the lies begin to pile up and the world becomes more bold against God, the truth becomes more evident to those who have eyes to see it and ears to hear it. Let the heathen rage – our faith remains strong.
